Tharoor’s praise of PM Modi exposes Rahul: BJP

The BJP on Monday (June 23, 2025) said that Congress MP Shashi Tharoor’s opinion piece published in The Hindu had “exposed” the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi.

Mr. Tharoor, in his article in The Hindu published on Monday (June 23, 2025), had written that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “energy, dynamism and willingness to engage” was a “prime asset for India on the global stage” and deserved greater backing. The remarks have come a time when the Congress has consistently been attacking the BJP-led Centre over its foreign policy. The article has also illuminated a different path that Mr. Tharoor has been treading from his party, the Congress, on certain issues and the differences therein.

Reacting to Mr. Tharoor’s comments, BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari took potshots at the Congress. In a post on X, he said, “Shashi Tharoor admits that PM Modi’s dynamism and global outreach are a strategic advantage for India. Shashi Tharoor exposes Rahul Gandhi.”
